The Commonwealth Blue Charter programme has announced its role as an Official Nominator for the prestigious Earthshot Prize 2025, inviting ocean-focused innovators to present groundbreaking solutions that address critical environmental challenges. Launched by Prince William in 2020, the Earthshot Prize aims to identify and support initiatives that can repair the planet by 2030.
This year, the Blue Charter team will focus on nominations under the “Revive Our Oceans” category, one of five Earthshots that also include Protecting Nature, Cleaning Air, Building a Waste-Free World, and Fixing Our Climate. Selected nominees could win £1 million and join a year-long fellowship to enhance their projects with expert mentorship and global exposure.
Call for Impactful Ocean Solutions
The programme seeks scalable, in-field-tested solutions with global impact potential, especially those addressing coastal restoration, fish population recovery, and sustainable ocean practices. Innovations led by diverse teams, including indigenous communities, are strongly encouraged.
Eligible solutions must:
- Be beyond the concept stage
- Demonstrate real-world testing and impact
- Show readiness for significant scaling within five years
Why Participate?
Finalists and winners will benefit from an extensive support network of NGOs, businesses, and policymakers, gaining visibility and resources to accelerate their projects. Past Earthshot initiatives have achieved remarkable success, influencing global policy and sustainable practices.
How to Apply
